EvolvEV project explicitly aims at supporting the “Environment and fight against climate change”. The goal of the EvolvEV project is to develop a learning open-access platform, providing learners with high-quality learning materials, intended to advance technical and entrepreneurial knowledge sets in one of the most important green sectors – transportation electrification.
Such a learning platform will contribute to advance competencies necessary for the rapidly developing electric vehicles industry in countries participating in the project and generally in Southeast Europe. The learning content will be futureoriented, since it will cover well-established, but also emerging technologies and approaches relevant to developing the EV industry. Additionally, the EvolvEV platform, through continuous evolution, will stay in tune with technological and local industry shifts, to secure its continued usefulness for future EvolvEV attendees. Furthermore, the platform will integrate innovative practices and tools into the learning processes. Among other things, the virtual laboratories plugins will provide users with access to advanced laboratory setups, devices, and resources, including living lab features, HIL emulators, and a sandbox for developing entrepreneurial ideas. Access to the virtual laboratories will enable learners to pursue independent research and development activities, beyond the courses’ content. Moreover, the platform will attract a wider audience and provide them with information explaining in simple terms how an EV functions, how and to what extent electromobility improves climate change and life quality in cities, how individuals approach transportation problems, etc., thus raising awareness and contributing to individual and collective behavior changes.
EvolvEV aims at developing the technical and entrepreneurial competencies of at least 500 current and future professionals in the EV sector in the Balkan region through a digital learning platform, accredited training programs and courses, workshops for technical skills and competitions for business plan development thus impacting a growing industry in need of more than 10000 workers in the near term in partner countries. EvolvEV will try to find ways to be active after the project end.
EvolvEV will develop a knowledge, training and innovation hub to advance technical and entrepreneurial knowledge sets in one of the most important green sectors – transportation electrification. EvolvEV will provide institutionally accredited courses with microcredentials (5 ECTS) through a common training programme with different topics for EVs and entrepreneurship. Virtual and Living Lab will be offered through the hub to researchers and industries worldwide for innovative research.
UoWM – University of Western Macedonia
The University of Western Macedonia (UoWM) runs 22 Departments in 5 cities of Western Macedonia. The new University was established in May 2019 under the law of synergy between Universities and TEIs, which enabled the University to redefine its role and status in the Greek academic context by remodelling new organization processes, curricula, functions and attitudes. Although it is a large university with a brief academic history in comparison with other Greek Universities, UoWM, being a new HEI, features vigour, flexibility and determination, all of which contribute to prompt decision- and policy-making processes, as well as implementation of innovative practice in the context of Greek academia. The UOWM runs 22 undergraduate curricula and 27 Master educational programs. Moreover, approximately 400 PhD candidates and 27 postdoctoral researchers are currently active in research activities in several research projects.

TUCN – Technical University of Cluj Napoca
The general objective of EvolvEV is to develop the technical and entrepreneurial competencies of at least 500 current and future professionals in the EV sector through a digital learning platform (used by at least 400 enrolled users), accredited training programs and courses (followed by least 50 students and 50 engineers), workshops for technical skills (visited by at least 120 participants) and competitions for business plan development (visited by at least 100 student participants), by the end of the project, thus impacting a growing industry in need of more than 10000 workers in the near term in partner countries.
Moreover, EvolvEV aims at the following specific objectives:
1) Develop a digital learning platform which offers:
• five innovative, outcome-oriented courses co-created with local industry advisory boards and stakeholders;
• digital access to virtual laboratory for development and testing of new products in real-world settings (implemented using two plugins);
• access to free mentorship sessions with experts for developing new business ideas.
2) Provide institutionally accredited courses with microcredentials (5 ECTS) to upgrade the skills of at least 50 students and 50 engineers. In the training programme, the consortium will exploit the digital knowledge platform developed in the project to make best use of the knowledge, expertise and infrastructure of each partner. Use of the EvolvEV platform will be incentivized through workshops and competitions. By making training programs sustainable (in life-long learning centers and ongoing courses), this objective contributes to “Supporting digital and green capabilities in higher education institutions”.
The main results of the project are:
• a common training programme with different topics for EVs and entrepreneurship, with microcredentials, are developed in coordination with the industry stakeholders;
• digital access to two virtual laboratories (one laboratory for advancing technical skills and another representing a sandbox for development of entrepreneurial ideas);
• entrepreneurship and collaborative learning are stimulated through free mentorship sessions, workshops and competitions;
• research skills of students are enhanced through the preparation and submission of papers to scientific conferences;
• sustainability of EvolvEV is established by institutionalizing the educational program and creating a network of collaborators and users of the platform
